In an effort to promote research on Chinese history and culture, advance knowledge and influence of Chinese history and culture in Portuguese-speaking countries, and improve the general public’s understanding of Chinese cultural heritage in Macao, the University of Macau proposes to establish the Centre for Chinese History and Culture.

As a multidisciplinary research institute, the Centre of Chinese History and Culture will be dedicated to academic research on Chinese history and culture, produce first-class research output, and organize and participate in academic communication and exchange activities.

Mission

The Centre aims to be recognized as a state-level platform in a few years (being listed as a member of the Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences of Ministry of Education and as a member of the “Fifty Centers of Chinese Culture Studies Overseas”).
