UM’s Centre for Chinese History and Culture to organise activities to promote Chinese culture

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Chinese History and Culture plans to organise a series of activities to popularise the studies of traditional Chinese culture and to help students learn more about traditional Chinese values, history and culture. The centre plans to invite renowned scholars to give talks on Chinese culture at local universities as well as primary and secondary schools, organise knowledge competitions about China, and launch training courses in Chinese history and culture.

Fujian Standing Committee member and Communication Department Head Gao Xiang visits UM to promote collaboration

A delegation led by Gao Xiang, a member of the Standing Committee of Fujian province and head of the Communication Department of Fujian province, recently visited the University of Macau (UM) and was warmly received by UM Acting Rector Lionel Ni and Faculty of Social Sciences Dean Hao Yufan. During the meeting, both parties discussed UM’s educational philosophy and development in scientific research. Ni told the guests about the milestones in the construction of UM’s campus, the university’s latest developments, and the ‘4-in-1’ model of education. Hao told the guests about UM’s Centre for Chinese History of Culture. Gao praised UM for its learning environment, educational philosophy, and effort in promoting Chinese culture. He said that UM shoulders the responsibility of promoting education as well as Chinese history and culture in Macao. He also expressed hope that UM would increase collaboration with universities in Fujian province.
