Interested in Chinese history and culture? Master of Arts in Chinese History and Culture——The Master’s degree program is perfect for you. The course is designed to serve primary and secondary school teachers in Macao, through intensive lectures, classroom interactions, innovative reports, etc., to update their knowledge of Chinese history and culture, enhance their ability to appreciate and explain the achievements of Chinese civilization, and promote their better Self-study or teaching skills of Chinese history and culture, thus strengthening the love and recognition of young people in Macao for Chinese civilization. The registration period starts from now until October 31, 2018, and the start date is January 2019.

  1. Follow the general admission regulations and requirements of the University. Please refer to Graduate School website: Regular Admission to Master’s Degree & Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma Programmes of 2018/2019 (https://www.umac.mo/grs/cn/admissions_regular.php).
  2. Admission will be in accordance with the University Admission Rules on MA degree in Chinese. In addition, the MA students must have a BA degree in History, Literature, Geography, Education, Communication, Sociology, Chinese or a relevant field.

UM arrange for secondary school teachers to visit Xi’an

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Chinese History and Culture recently arranged for teachers from 18 secondary schools in Macao to visit Xi’an and learn about Chinese history and culture.

The secondary schools included Hou Kong Middle School, Keang Peng School, Our Lady of Fatima Girls School (Macau), Matteo Ricci College, Taipa Fong Chong School, Estrela Do Mar School Macau, Affiliated School of the University of Macau, Sao Jose Diocesan College, 6thSchool, and Sao Jose Diocesan College, 5th School.

During the trip, members of the delegation visited Shaanxi Normal University, the Yang Mausoleum of Han, Terracotta Army, the Forest of Stone Steles Museum, and Shaanxi History Museum. The participants also attended talks on Chinese culture, the protection of cultural heritages, and the development of Xi’an as an ancient Chinese capital.

The beauty of landscapes and the realm of poetry │ Centre for Chinese History and Culture of University of Macau hosted the “2018 Summer School Students’ Ning Su Hang Poetry Culture Study Tour”

Organized by Centre for Chinese History and Culture of University of Macau, and cooperating with 澳門培正中學（英语：Pui Ching Middle School；葡萄牙語：Escola Secundária Pui Ching）, 23 teachers and students formed the “2018 Summer School Students’ Ning Su Hang Poetry Culture Study Group”, which went to mainland China from July 15th to July 20th. As the Director of the program, Senior Instructor Mr Neng Ian CHEANG , together with the team leaders Liang Shuping and Zheng Zhisheng of Pui Ching Middle School,  led the students to interpret the ancient Chinese through the text learning and field trips and cultivate their understanding and love for Chinese classical culture and the great rivers and mountains of the motherland.
是次考察，以面試形式，甄選對中國歷史文化及中華古典詩詞有濃厚興趣，且平日能熱情投入於中華文化推廣的同學，選拔升小五至升中二的２０位學生，赴江南古都杭州、蘇州，及六朝古都南京遊覽西湖、靈隱寺、錢塘江、雷峰塔、拙政園、寒山寺、虎丘、棲霞寺、中山陵等風景名勝。
江南水鄉，人文薈萃，宋明以來，更是中華文化的淵藪。“上有天堂，下有蘇杭”，江南古都杭州和蘇州，文化發達，還有六朝古都的南京，一直為歷代文人雅士所稱道。這三座古城的景觀在中國古典詩詞中出現得極多，被賦予別樣的意境。
 “讀萬卷書，行萬里路”。此次考察，同學們在遊目騁懷的同時，領略傳統文化的博奧；在品讀山水美景之時，感受遊學的欣悅，真正做到寓學於行，知行合一。大家認真聽取老師的講解，陶醉於美景之中，對古典詩詞有了更進一步的理解，紛紛表示此次遊學受益匪淺，收穫良多。
“銘記歷史、砥礪前行”。在聆聽了帶隊老師對紀念館的講解之後，師生一同參觀了紀念館，一張張真實場景的照片、一組組令人髮指的資料，讓身處和平時代的同學們震驚不已。
此次組織參觀南京大屠殺紀念館的實踐活動，充分發揮加強了澳門中小學生愛國主義的教育作用，廣大師生在觸摸國家滄桑歷史的同時，也謹記肩負的時代責任。在紀念館悼念場，同學們懷揣著對南京大屠殺遇難同胞的哀思，為三十萬遇難同胞集體默哀並敬獻花。
據悉，澳門培正中學作為中國歷史文化中心四個推廣基地之一，定期於該校的中華文化館舉辦各種類型的中國文化活動。此次「2018年暑期中小學生寧蘇杭詩詞文化考察團」正是一次良好的實踐。澳門大學中國歷史文化中心表示，未來將開展更多、更好、更有效的推廣活動，為澳門青少年親近祖國傳統文化創造優越寬鬆的客觀條件，為弘揚中華文化、培養愛國愛澳青年貢獻力量。

South country style, Culture, Patriotism – remember the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao middle school students “Guangfu culture” learning experience class

Organized by Centre for Chinese History and Culture of University of Macau, Hong Kong and Macao Historical and Cultural Research Centre of JiNan University, co-organized by the Guangzhou Yue Theatre and Red Line Women’s Art Centre,  the “Guangfu Culture Learning Experience Class” was successfully held in Jinan University in Guangzhou from July 10 to 2018, 2018.  Variety students come from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The Macau participants in the learning class are from 澳門海星中學（Escola Católica Estrela） do Mar and 利瑪竇中學（Colégio Mateus Ricci）.

Day1
7月10日上午，同學們在暨南大學學生志願者的帶領下熟悉校園，參觀了暨南大學校史館。並在龍獅館開展了一場別開生面的破冰活動，同學們逐漸拋開了拘謹，歡聲笑語不絕於耳。

晚上一行人參加了暨大優秀學子分享會，好學好知，向善向上，暨大優秀學子們在分享會上各自展示了獨特的風采，積極分享自己的學習經驗，讓現場的同學們受益頗深。

Day2

翌日早晨，同學們參加本期粵港澳中學生“廣府文化”學習體驗班的開班儀式。澳門大學中國歷史文化中心項目主任鄭寧人老師、暨南大學港澳歷史文化研究中心主任葉農教授等出席了儀式。儀式結束後，葉農教授講授《廣府文化概述》專題講座：從戲曲音樂、工藝美術、民俗節慶、宗教文化、飲食文化、語言文化等方面講述廣府文化，葉教授幽默風趣的講解，激發了同學們對廣府文化的興趣，加深了對澳門中華傳統文化與廣府文化之間是一脈相承的認識。當天下午，同學們參觀了廣州市主要歷史遺跡，包括被譽爲“嶺南建築藝術明珠”的陳家祠和南越王宮博物館。晚餐後，大家乘坐遊船，盡情欣賞珠江沿岸的迷人夜景。讓同學們感受祖國的發展與繁榮，就如兩岸的璀璨光芒一樣耀眼奪目。

Day3
第三天上午，同學們集體前往參觀為紀念粵曲名伶紅線女而成立的＂紅線女藝術中心＂，並邀請了紅線女的入室弟子教授粵曲的唱腔。同學們對“紅派”的粵曲表演藝術產生了濃厚的興趣。下午，到達廣州粵劇院，同學們走進戲院排練基地，同戲劇演員們交流合照，感受粵劇文化的精髓。同時也體會到了人們所說的＂臺上一分鐘，台下十年功＂的真實感受。Day4

廣繡與蘇繡、蜀繡、湘繡並列為中國四大名繡。7月13日，同學們饒有興致地來到廣繡大廈進行實地參訪。當走進了廣繡作品展覧廳，看到巧奪天工的廣繡作品，同學們都讚譽不已。

在大師的工作間裡學習廣繡製作，體驗了刺繡製作，大家也對自己的第一次刺繡興奮不已。

至此，此次粵港澳中學生“廣府文化”學習體驗班圓滿落下帷幕。短短的四天裡，同學們將講座知識與實踐考察相結合，既豐富了對廣府文化的認識，也加深了彼此間的友誼。澳門大學中國歷史文化中心帶隊鄭寧人老師對學員們的出色表現表示讚賞，澳門同學們也對暨大老師與志願者的辛勤付出表達感謝。

     “非常感恩有機會可以參加這次的學習之旅，經過四日的學習使我獲益良多，透過南越王宮墓我感受到2000年前大漢王朝的鼎盛，透過瞭解紅線女的一生，我感受到她身上所承載的文化重量，透過觀賞粵劇的彩排，我深深得被其深厚韻味所吸引，透過參觀廣繡大廈，看到許許如生的粵繡令我感受到廣府次繡的鬼斧神功。這次學習就是一個很好的機會讓我們更進一步瞭解這一塊養我育我的土地，也對我們對自已更有認同感，原來這一切一直都在我們周邊但卻一直被我們所忽略。明朝著名學者顧炎武先生曾經說過天下興亡匹夫有責。在他的概念中亡國僅僅是改朝換代，而亡天下則是一個民族文化的斷絕。在此引用顧炎武的思想只是想說明廣東人之所以為廣東人，我相信不是一個地理上的概念，而是一個文化上的概念，正是有了粵語，粵劇，粵菜，等這些獨特的嶺南文化的浸泡才使我們為成為一個廣東人。我們需要將廣府文化一直傳承下去。最後非常感謝葉教授和鄭教授以及海星兩位老師及所以同學們和一眾志願者整個旅途的陪伴。尤其要感謝志願者們的照顧，讓這次行程非常完美，非常感謝！最後衷心的感謝在座的每一位陪伴我們這一路的行程，希望廣府文化體驗班能越辦越好，將嶺道文化傳承下去。”
